I’ve just come to
accept that regular blogging isn’t so much my thing.
But I HAVE to talk about
my trip to New York City.
It seriously may have changed my life – but I’ll get
to why later.
These are the lovely
ladies I spent the week with:
that’s Amber, me, Hailey, Kelsey, and Chaychole (a.k.a. Rachael).
We did so many cool
things (some of them totally un-planned) including…
Seeing the view from
Central Park,
Doing baptisms at the
Manhattan LDS Temple,
Walking through cool
buildings like Trump Tower on 5th Avenue and Trinity Church,
Lots of shopping
(including at the famous FAO Schwartz toy store),
Falling head-over-heels in love with
the Chrysler Building,
Seeing “Wicked” on
Broadway
(meaning I got to cross something off my bucket list!),
And walking across
the Brooklyn Bridge in the pouring rain to get some of the best pizza I’ve ever
had.
(the view from the bridge was still stunning with all the clouds covering
the skyline)
Over the weekend, we
went to Massachusetts to Hailey’s family’s second house, and that was wonderful
too. We definitely needed the break
after all the craziness of the city and the lack of sleep and all.
(I wish I had taken
pictures of it…)
I absolutely fell in
love that week.
Even the times we were
just wandering (somewhat) aimlessly through the streets were more amazing than
I can really describe.
The city is
beautiful in every way – I just couldn’t stop admiring everything around
me. What people have managed to build is
mind-blowing.
The reason the trip
may have changed my life is just because I want to go back again so badly. I would love to live in the city – or at
least in a suburb like Scarsdale (where Hailey lives) so that I can be there
all the time. I even looked at the
possibility of graduate school somewhere like NYU.
They do have a Higher Education and Student
Affairs program, which is what I’m currently interested in.
That would be pretty
perfect. (And pretty expensive too, I know.)
Either way, I can’t
stop thanking my Heavenly Father for how blessed I am. Being able to take the time off school and
work and to have the financial means to fly across the country and stay in such
a wonderful place is amazing.
Even with
all the trials and difficulties it brings – this life is pretty fantastic.
