YES.

You know what's great?
Having 2 finals that take less than 30 minutes combined.
Even better?
I'm done with classes for more than 2 months.
 And the best?
I get to give a talk in church on Sunday about why my dad is awesome.
(And it's 2-3 minutes-that's easy.)

There are always hard things too, but Heavenly Father definitely loves me and blesses me so much that I can't possibly complain.

Ain't No Mountain High Enough (yes there is.)

Last Saturday my roommates Sarah and Rachel, my home teacher and his friend and I all set out to hike Mount Timpanogos.
If you didn't know, it's the second tallest in the Wasatch Mountain Range, and the top has an elevation of 11,749 ft (so Google tells me).

In the end, we made it somewhere between halfway and two-thirds up the mountain before the snow and ice got in our way.

And somehow, even with a GPS,
we managed to get ourselves off the trail on the way back.
(I wouldn't say lost, since we were never more than 15 or 20 yards from the path)

But apparently, 15 or 20 yards makes a big difference.
We went through all this tree/brush stuff that has left me with a few battle scars,
and had to wade through this freezing cold muddy stream.
(Rachel fell in - sadly I missed actually seeing it.)

Getting lostLosing the trail was actually one of the more fun parts of it all.
(Okay maybe not so much the freezing water, but besides that.)

I'm kind of limited in my pictures from that day at the moment, but this is Sarah, Rachel, Jason and I at the place we decided to turn around.
You can't tell, but we were all trying very hard not to slip and fall while taking this picture.
Sarah, Rachel and I with our awesome matching sunglasses.
I lost mine on the way back down -- it's quite sad.

Sarah, Rachel, Rick (my home teacher) and I.

I was trying to take a picture of the view, and since they were in the picture, I told all 3 of them to turn around and smile.
Rick listened, I think Jason just tried to strike a pose, and Rachel ignored me all together.

So, since I don't like to do anything halfway, we're trying again when the snow melts.

This is pretty convenient, since I did decide not to take any classes Summer Term.
And I made a list of things I want to do before the end of August (a.k.a. Fall Semester) so I keep busy while I'm not in classes:

1. Hike all the way to the top of Mt. Timpanogos
(it'll happen in July or August.)

2. Go to the temple 7 times.

3. Read 3 books.

4. Cross 4 things off my bucket list.
(Can you tell I like lists? Even my lists refer to other lists.)

5. Go to the Brigham City temple open house.
(this one is the one I'm least sure I'll be able to do since it's 2 hours away and I don't have my own car.)

6. Write on my blog and in my journal more.
(I'd say I'm not doing half bad considering I've had 3 blog posts in the last week!)

As I say quite often: I got this.

Life Update

I guess I haven’t updated much about what is currently going on in my life.
Quick update time? I think so.

I now live in apartments on the south-east side of campus.  They’re really nice – much larger than my old apartment and yet they only have 4 girls in them instead of 6.
The people who live in this complex are really fun too.  I’m glad I get to live here until at least April, but maybe even longer depending on what my plans are.

Here’s the thing – I could graduate in April. That’s a whole year early.
To do that, I would need to take classes all through this summer.  Right now I’m in classes that will finish in the middle of June, and then I could continue and take more that will finish in August.  Then Fall semester starts and I’ll be on track to graduate in April.

But that will be seriously difficult.

I could burn out and then start doing terribly in classes just ‘cause that is a whole lot of school without a whole lot of break. So I may not take classes Summer term, which means I would finish all of my classes next June, and officially graduate in August.
That would still be 10 months earlier than my expected graduation date when I entered BYU.

The only reason this decision is so hard is because I have a “get done ASAP” attitude right now and I have a full scholarship that is only guaranteed through next winter semester.
But Summer in Provo is just so dang fun (weird right?) and I would love to get to experience it without homework, and just work at my job 20+ hours a week.
Decisions, decisions.

I would tell you about my awesome roommates and friends here.. but I feel like I need pictures for that, and right now all I have are pictures from my roommate’s 21st birthday party where we played drinking games with Crystal Light.
And trust me, the pictures of everyone pretending to be drunk (as best as a bunch of LDS kids can) are probably not the best to introduce the people I spend my time with.
So you’ll just have to wait until I actually get a time when I can take good pictures of all those cool kids.

MUCH LOVE (:
